Upcoming Retreats
August 20—23, 2026 | The Buddha’s Pranayama
Mountain Light Sangha resumes their retreat offerings this August with “Buddhist Pranayama: Opening the Eye of Wisdom,” led by Mountain Light Retreat’s visiting resident of interspiritual contemplation, Satyadhara Todd Brown. This retreat will be devoted to the practice of breath meditation inspired by the teachings of Theravada Forest Tradition masters Buddhadasa Bhikkhu and Ajahn Sumedho. The schedule will include varying periods of formal meditation, basic instruction, chanting of traditional verses, embodied practice, and silence.
Celebrating the Catholic feast of St. Theresa of Ávila and the Hindu festival of the Goddess, this retreat will be devoted to contemplating the nature and power of the divine feminine.
October 15—18, 2026 | Blessed Sister, Holy Mother
December 10—13, 2026| Bodhi Day belated
As we belatedly commemorate the enlightenment day of the Buddha according to the Japanese liturgical calendar, Mountain Light Sangha will come together for an intensive meditation and chanting retreat.
